Alison got ready at Hayeswood Lodge with her mum, sister and best friend Liv, and the atmosphere was so relaxed. The ladies had their hair and make up done and Alison popped the finishing touches on her speech. It was so chilled, the squad were even ready early enough for us to grab some sneaky photos in the B&B’s gardens before we headed to the ceremony.
The ceremony was a beautiful service in the surrounding woodland. I love outside ceremonies and the setting was just perfect. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was a real tear-jerker and so emotional.
The reception was in a tipi at the venue. They chose Mapperly Farm in Derby because its so relaxed and it allowed them to be outside all day. It was a woodland festival wedding, which was so chilled, all. the guests were soaking up the sun all day. I love shooting tipi weddings because they’ve always got such a great atmosphere.
They had lawn games in the afternoon, and sparklers and a fire pit in the evening. I was giggling all day at how competitive the lawn games got and it was awesome that all their guests got involved. They decorated the venue with pictures of them together throughout the years and of course of their lovely doggies and their was plenty of bunting and fairy lights, because looked stunning.
For dinner they had a hogs roast, which was loved by all the guests. and instead of canapés they had a cake table!! Which I personally thought was very yummy. The first dance was to Paulo Nutini’s Someone Like you. The most memorable part of the day was the speeches, because Alison’s mum had everybody in stitches talking about her love of Eurovision. Alison, also not one for tradition got up and did a speech. They also had band during the party – it was brilliant fun and got everyone dancing.
Alex and Alison’s wedding was so laid back and everything I love about weddings. Here’s their wonderful wedding!

Huge thanks to my lovely friend Dani Salmon for second shooting.
