“I don’t think words would ever be able to describe just how amazing Charlotte at Electric Blue is – but here’s my attempt. From initial contact to the end products, everything was outstanding. Charlotte was prompt, super friendly and professional (yet I feel like I’ve known her for years!) On our wedding day, Charlotte and her second shooter Kate, were fab – we almost forgot they were there, that’s how well they blended in to the wedding. And then the quality of our pictures and video is astonishing! We and all our friends and family are obsessed with each and every image, and every second of our highlight film (which in my opinion, is an absolute must have if you’re booking Electric Blue!) Infinity stars – could not recommend more!”
Amber and dan got married in the summer in the awesome Worcester Glamping, which is a beautiful Yurton a farm in Worcester. They had their ceremony at Worcester Guildhall, which is a grand Grade 1 listed building steeped in history. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and one I will never forget! They got in touch with me after meeting me at the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza in Birmingham, an alternative wedding fair bursting with tonnes of unique wedding suppliers. So when I received the enquiry I knew it was going to be an epic day. They said they wanted a fun photographer, and I loved that they just wanted to party and eat cake.
Amber got ready at home with her mum and her maids, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. The girls got emotional when Amber gave them some thank you presents, it was so sweet. Amber looked stunning and had her hair and makeup done by the lovely Sarah Russell who is also a fellow Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza supplier. I’ve got to hang out with Sarah at the last couple of fairs and she’s just so nice and a wonderful lady. I know I’ve mentioned it a million times but I LOVE LOVE LOVE flower crowns and Amber’s colourful crown from Floral Roundabout was EVERYTHING. I also loved her red Vivienne Westwood shoes and matching earring. Once ready the girls then rode on a vintage bus to get to the ceremony.
Dan got ready in a yurt at Worcester glamping with the lads where he was surprised with a yellow Triumph Spitfire. Amber informed me Dan’s favourite car is the Spitfire so she knew she wanted to organise one for him to drive to the wedding. This made me giggle and slightly jealous as my dad actually owns a yellow Spitfire that I have been desperate to drive since he brought it but unfortunately I’m not trusted to drive it.
The ceremony was in the spectacular Assembly Room at Worcester Guildhall, which boasts painted Italianate ceilings and chandelier combo. The guests were welcomed in by music by the awesome Steven Edwards who also played throughout the day. During the ceremony they had a beautiful reading and the service itself was so sweet. Amber and Dan were congratulated by their guests as they headed outside for confetti where they were greeted by a random Stormtrooper who was leafleting for a local comic con. It was so random everyone was in hysterics.
The reception was in a yurt at Worcester Glamping. They chose the venue because it’s a proper relaxed DIY venue and they could totally personalise it. It was a Festival wedding, which really suited the relaxed party loving couple. I love shooting festival DIY weddings because they’re always got such a great atmosphere. Worcester Glamping is the perfect place for festival weddings as they have plenty of space for guests to chill out, it has set in a beautiful location and they even have bell tent accommodation available.
They had lawn games in the afternoon, and a silent disco in the evening where everyone was pulling their best moves. They decorated the venue with flags and lots of colour, because to go with their festival theme. For dinner they had BBQ sharing platters, which was gobbled down in seconds by everyone. For dessert they hosted their very own wedding bake off, their guests did them proud and everything looked delicious. The first dance included confetti canons, and they finished off the evening with Crepes.
The most memorable part of the day was heading out to do a few pictures with Dan & Amber during sunset, because it was so beautiful and they are so lovely it was great to hang out with them. Of course I also loved that they had Glitter bar during the party – it was brilliant fun!
Amber and Dan’s wedding was totally epic and everything I love about weddings. Here’s their fantastic festival wedding!
