Danielle and Anthony got married in the summer at the awesome Old Library at the Custard Factory, which is a quirky venue in Digbeth, Birmingham. They had their ceremony at St Paul’s Church, which is their the local church. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot.
Danielle got ready at an apartment in the Jewellery quarter with all her maids and her mum, and the atmosphere was full of excitement as Dannielle opened her presents off Anthony and they sipped Prosecco and Carling. Danielle looked stunning and Kari Roberts did an awesome job with her hair and makeup and was so lovely!! The maids then rode a vintage red bus to the ceremony and Danielle and her brother travelled in a convertible Volkswagen Beetle that was decorated with ribbons in the Aston Villa colours, as a touching memory to her late father. Anthony got ready at home with the lads then went to play a cheeky game of darts before the ceremony. The ceremony itself was a lovely service in a beautiful church in St Pauls square in the Jewellery quarter.
The reception was also dubbed as the ‘AFTER PARTY’ was at Old Library at the Custard Factory. They chose the venue because it’s a blank canvas and they could totally personalise it. It was a rock n roll wedding, which had a real party atmosphere. I love shooting relaxed weddings, where the couple just want their guests to have fun weddings because the photo ops are endless. I also love shooting in Digbeth!! As a photographer I LOVE LOVE LOVE colour and so the me the getting to photograph around Digbeth and it’s colourful graffiti walls is always a treat.
The original library first opened in 1866, it is now the only one still standing. The public library’s doors closed in 1940 and remained closed until 1990 when the dilapidated space was bought alongside the Bird’s Custard Factory. Nowadays this victorian library is a kick ass wedding venue, which I’m lucky to have just on my door step.
They decorated the venue with skull vases and golden rock hands. They even had and a show stopping neon ’til death do us part sign which I was OBSESSED with, because and obviously had to get photos of them with. For dinner they had street food, which was so yummy. and everyone went crazy on the dance floor as soon as the band started.
The best part of the day was hanging out with Danille & Anthony around Digbeth, because they were just both so lovely and so much fun. We even headed into Ghetto Golf for a quick round of golf, as that was the location of their first date – it was so such a lovely little touch to the day.
Danielle and Anthony’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and totally epic. Here’s their gorgeous wedding!
HUGE thanks to Katy Jackson for being an awesome second shooter and all round lovely human.
