Hey I’m Charlotte! I’m 28 and I have a sexy Peaky F*cking Blinder accent. I don’t do traditional or stuffy. I have unicorn hair, I’m tattooed & the only guy in my life is my Old English sheepdog Humphrey. I’m unashamedly a Hufflepuff and I’m a vegetarian. I live in Birmingham, I like to drink, I love to party and I’m addicted travelling.
Electric Blue started because I was asked to be a bridesmaid for my friend. At the time I had very successfully become a horrendously broke MA Fine Art Student and so I couldn’t afford to buy her a decent wedding gift. I’d started playing around with video in my studio and so thought it wouldn’t be that difficult to make her a quick wedding film. I was completely out of my depth, however the film came out pretty nice and wedding referrals started to come in. It wasn’t long before I had officially caught the wedding bug and quickly realised through blogs like Rock n Roll Bride, that there was an alternative wedding market out there. HELLO non traditional weddings, relaxed couples who like to stamp their individuality on their wedding celebrations and above all love to party. I had found my dream job. Capturing loved up couples and documenting the story of their wedding days, from the nervous excitement in the morning to the p**ssed up antics of the evening, made me so happy and still does! I’ve travelled the country shooting barn weddings, festival weddings, beach weddings and weddings with Morris Dancers AND I BLOODY LOVE THEM ALL. I have the best clients!
Over the years I’ve developed a photography and video style that is informal, colourful and rock n roll. Although its sometimes hard running your own business, I love being a girl boss and now I can’t imagine doing anything else. When I’m not shooting weddings, or in my office, I’m usually either in the pub or at a gig. I love music from Classic Rock to Country. My favourite nights out recently have been nostalgic nights full to the brim with dance floor hits from my childhood and I can pretend i’m 15 whilst rocking out to all my favourite emo and pop punk hits.
Over the last 10 years I’ve been a huge vinyl collector and my favourite band is still Brand New (sorry, not sorry). At the moment I’m listening to Chris Stapleton (man that guys’s voice is so F*cking sexy) and blasting out Neck Deep and Creeper to help me get hyped for the upcoming festival season. Roll on DOWNLOAD and SLAM DUNK! I love festival season, getting drunk, rocking out to music with friends and I adore the fashion. I’ve already brought way too many festival outfits, included a custom hand painted leather jacket that I can’t wait to show you guys.
I’m currently making my way through visiting 30 countries before I’m 30 and I’m only 2 away from reaching my goal!! I’m super chuffed with this as it’s turned into a little competition between me and my family because we all love to travel. I’m on 28, my sister’s on 27 and my dad’s on 59!! Bastard!! I been extremely lucky over the last couple of years to have checked some amazing places off my bucket list, including New Zealand (the most beautiful place on the planet,) Canada (where it was -27) and I got to travel around South East Asia. I now have my sights set on Budapest and Bali, so if you have any recommendations, hit me up! I’m inspired by artists such a Cindy Sherman and Frida Khalo. I also draw inspiration from fashion, tattoos, music and films. WES ANDERSON IS GOD. His cinematography and colour pallet is just beautiful. I’m a box set junkie, who’s obsessed with Game of Thrones and my guilty pleasure in RuPaul’s Drag Race. I’m a self confessed instagram addict and i’m always checking out the current styles and trends. At the moment the ones I’m loving are neon signs, bohemian dresses, textured backdrops and leather.
