Leanne and Donatas got married this spring at the unique Le Petit Chateau in Northumberland, which is French-inspired venue that’s bursting to the seams with originality and splendour, boasting crystal chandeliers, antique gold furniture, a giant marble fireplace. SWOON. I loved shooting at Le Petit Chateau weddings because the building is so unusual. and the grounds have plenty of cool photo locations, I spent the whole day running around like a kid in a candy shop.
Donatas got down on one knee at the top go of Monte Blade in Italy and of course Leanne just had to say yes! They got in touch with me after finding me on Instagram and even drove all the way down to Birmingham from Newcastle to have an engagement shoot with me at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, where we explored the grounds and got to know each other a little better.
The day itself was relaxed, with a rock n roll / boho edge. The couple had a cake/ donut table that looked and smelt delicious and gorgeous signage that they made themselves. They even had a glitter & selfie bar whcih went down a and Dan even hand-painted Leanne a gorgeous leather jacket. Both Dan & Leanne are extremely creative, Leanne in floristry and Dan is a great photographer, who since getting married has started doing wedding videography. Check out his beautiful work here, particularly if you are getting married in the North East.
Leanne and Donatas got ready at the venue, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. Both looked amazing, I loved Dan’s floral tie and Leanne’s dress and flower crown combo was simply perfection. The couple opted to have a first look, which was just so lovely and I may have even shed a tiny tear over how emotional they got when they first laid eyes on each other. I love first looks and think they are perfect for non traditional couples who may be a bit nervous about seeing each other for the first time in front of their friends and family.
The ceremony was in the BELLE ÉPOQUE, a gorgeous French Chapel ceremony room and was an intimate affair. During the ceremony they read their own vows and it was a real tear-jerker. Everyone then headed out to the Mediterranean Terrace for drinks and canapés.
The best part of the day for me personally was when we headed down to the river at sunset, because we got the most bad ass photos, and Leanne & Donatas killed it.
Leanne and Donatas’s wedding was so laid back and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their stunning wedding!

Big thanks to my gal Kate Jackson for being the most incredible second shooter / photo ninja and for also making the trek to Northumberland with me.
