As the Starks would say, WINTER IS COMING, I’m beginning to wind down from the summer wedding season and I’m dragging my hat and gloves out to prepare for my upcoming winter weddings. Recently I’ve had a lot more office time and today I was shocked to realise how little I’ve actually blogged this year. So I’m diving straight back in by throwing it back to last year and this gorgeous Winter Solstice inspired styled shoot.
Winter Solstice occurs when one of the Earth’s poles has its maximum tilt away from the Sun and happens twice yearly, once in each hemisphere. This shoot was the brain child of Legend bridal, Scarlet Envy Events and Taxidermy by Kate and aimed to celebrate this magical time which celebrates new beginnings on the darkest and longest night of the year.
When I arrived on set I was gob smacked by rich tones and textures, the flowers were to die for and that black wedding dress!! Hello all the gothic style goals. I loved Louis’s velvet suit and I had to stop myself from ‘accidentally’ walking off with all the gorgeous jewellery. However my favourite part of the day was capturing Kate and Louis who were not only a gorgeous couple but also really sweet. I’m sure I’m not the only supplier that was moved when they decided to have their very own handfasting ceremony in the woods.
