Worried About Feeling Awkward in Your Wedding Photos? Here’s How I Help!

If I had a pound for every time a couple told me, “We’re so awkward in photos,” I’d probably have enough to fund a full wedding weekend in the Maldives.

If that sounds like you, don’t worry – you are not alone! So many couples feel nervous about having their photos taken. You might be thinking:

  • “What do we even do with our hands?!”
  • “I don’t want to look stiff or fake.”
  • “I’ve seen beautiful wedding photos, but will we look that natural?”

The good news? You don’t have to be a model or know how to pose to get gorgeous, natural wedding photos. In fact, some of my favorite images come from couples who told me they were terrible in front of the camera.

So, how do I make sure you feel comfortable and actually enjoy the experience?

1. I Break Up the Couple’s Session into Small, Fun Moments

One of the biggest worries couples have is spending too much time away from their guests. That’s why I don’t believe in dragging you off for an hour-long photoshoot. Instead, I break your portraits into short, manageable chunks throughout the day.

This means:
✔️ You’re not overwhelmed or exhausted from posing for ages.
✔️ You get to stay present and enjoy your wedding, rather than feeling like you’re missing out.
✔️ We capture a variety of beautiful moments in different settings—without it feeling like a massive production.

2. No Stiff Poses – Just Real Moments

If you’re worried about looking awkward, forget the rigid poses! My approach is all about how you naturally interact as a couple. Instead of forcing you into stiff positions, I guide you into moments that feel authentic and actually fun.

Whether it’s walking hand in hand, sharing an inside joke, or having a quiet moment together, your photos will feel like you – not a staged version of you.

3. You’ll Never Feel Lost in Front of the Camera

One of the biggest reasons people feel awkward in photos is that they don’t know what to do. That’s where I come in!

I’ll give you easy direction – nothing complicated, just little prompts that help you feel comfortable and relaxed. Think of it like a mini adventure, where you’re just enjoying time together and I happen to be there capturing it.

And trust me, within minutes, you’ll forget the camera is even there.

4. The Focus Is on the Connection, Not Perfection

The best wedding photos aren’t about perfect poses or forced smiles – they’re about connection. The way you look at each other, the way you laugh, the way you squeeze each other’s hands when no one else is looking.

That’s what I capture. And that’s why, even if you think you’re awkward in photos, your wedding gallery will tell a completely different story.

So, If You’re Camera-Shy…

Know that you’re in safe hands. I promise your wedding photos will feel effortless, natural, and you. No forced smiles, no pressure—just real moments, beautifully captured.
