When Alicia and Ben walked into the eclectic wedding extravaganza in Birmingham, little did they know they were about to embark on a wedding journey that would defy tradition and redefine the meaning of celebration. Their festival and ultimate party wedding at Rhyse Farm, originally a Turkey Brood House turned unique venue, was a testament to their vibrant personalities and commitment to doing things differently. As their photographer, I knew from our first meeting that this wedding would be nothing short of epic, and boy, was I right!
Rhyse Farm, a family-run business, offered the perfect canvas for Alicia and Ben’s unconventional celebration. The venue, with its quirky character and history as a Turkey Brood House, boasted the best prep room I’ve ever seen and a little bar area with a pool table, adding a touch of charm to the festivities. Every corner of Rhyse Farm was filled with personality, setting the stage for a wedding like no other.
Hazel, not only the celebrant but also a supplier at EWE, conducted a ceremony that reflected the couple’s individuality. The order of service, presented as custom newspapers, added a unique touch. The ceremony featured a sing-along to “American Pie,” shots to announce the couple as husband and wife, and readings by Charlotte, who also happens to be my makeup artist.
Alicia’s sense of style was truly remarkable. Wearing a custom denim jacket and Irregular Choice leopard print shoes, she effortlessly showcased her personality. And why don’t more brides wear hats? Alicia rocked it! We explored the venue’s numerous awesome spots for photos, capturing moments with smoke bombs and confetti cannons that added an extra layer of fun to the festivities.
The entertainment choices at Alicia and Ben’s wedding were as diverse as the couple themselves. Mini golf, Shotski, a pianist, and Beer Pong kept guests engaged and entertained throughout. The table dash during the couple’s entrance to the wedding breakfast was a hit, with guests eagerly participating. And yes, it made me realize I need to hit the gym!
Speeches had everyone in stitches, especially when the couple’s son Josh stole the show. Surprise singing waiters took the celebration to the next level, turning the room into a dance floor extravaganza. Guests were conga-ing, dancing on tables, and Alicia and Ben even found themselves on their friends’ shoulders – a sight that truly embodied the spirit of the day.
As the evening progressed, The Record Players band took the stage, with Alicia surprising everyone by joining in for a song. Confetti cannons marked the first dance, and the couple provided an array of bucket hats for guests to wear on the dance floor, embracing the ultimate festival spirit.
Alicia and Ben’s non-traditional extravaganza at Rhyse Farm was a celebration of love, individuality, and fun. From the quirky details to the unexpected surprises, every moment was a reflection of the couple’s vibrant spirits. If you’re planning a party wedding and want photos that document the energy of the dat, it’s time to get in touch. Cheers to breaking traditions and creating memories that last a lifetime!
